Microsoft is head hunting for all pirates and modders! As of Sunday, gamers have reported that their systems will no longer connect to Xbox Live and some even say that access to their Hard drives has been banned.
This is the ideal time to catch people who have modified their systems, due the large amount of games that have been releases and those that will be released for the holidays, with Live content. Already the market is being flooded with banned Xboxs and the Xbox call centers are in chaos with complaints of angry gamers who need their DLC. Any way you look at it, those who have modded their system are in deep trouble as 600K accounts have already been banned and a projected 1 Mil by the end of the year are still to be banned. Piracy has been mainstream since the internet and affordable media has been available. Many choose to do it for various reasons, either for finances or as an ethical POV, gamers have taken the risk to modd their systems, and now Microsoft has striked back!
update:
This week Microsoft has unleashed a huge ban that has claimed more than 600k users already and still going up. This is by far one of the worst bans in modding history. Rumors say that M$ is able to detect DVD drives in the 360s that have modified firmware. Once a modified console has been connected to Xbox live you will be perma-banned instantly. Now this doesn’t affect your gamertag or profile what so ever but the console cannot be connected to Xbox Live, Windows Media Center will not work and you cannot save games to the hard drive.
thanks to Neko-Kun for the Update.
