Figure review

fig1

Wonder Festival has come and gone in the mean Otaku streets of Japan.  This con is where some of the best figure makers get together to visually duke it out with their hot new Figures.  Like any good con, Wonfest leaves us drooling for their newest line up.

Shining Wind [shiina Kanon](PVC Figure)

This Figure is available for purchase now and is priced at around $78.  Produced by Orchid Seed, we see a lot of detail and some fine painting.  This Item was released in November and will continue to ship till quantities are exhausted.  This figure has an awesome base, normally they just get in the way, but this one is adds a great feel to the whole image and the pose is sure to set it off from the other figures on you shelf.

K-ON! Akiyama Mio 1/8 PVC Figure

fig2

Alter will be releasing this Akiyana Mio figure in November and is available for pre-order.  This great figure will be sold at about $72.  Again Alter shows some great attention to detail by placing actual strings on her bass and capturing the playfulness of the anime.  If you havnt seen K-ON, then you really need to check it out.

DannyChoo.com Mirai (Pre-production Model)

fig3

This figure is not available for pre-order yet, but is here to let everyone know that it is coming very soon.  For those not familiar with DC.com, Danny Choo is a blogger in Japan who eats, Sleeps, and breathes anime and all that comes with it. Think of his web site as a window into your life if you lived in Japan.  He treats us with photo walks of the streets and lets us know what life is really like there.  Mirai is one of his mascots for DC.com and through his close working with Figma and Good Smile Company, she has been transformed into a really nice figure.  keep a look out for more reviews when available.

Queen’s Blade Wasteland Picaroon Risty 1/8 Megahouse

fig4

You cant do a figure review with out writing about Queen’s blade.  Queen’s Blade is a not for kids anime which spawned from all the Erog illustrations and line of figures.  The anime is fairly new, but Queen’s Blade has been well known for some time.  Risty here, is an excellent example of the fine design put into Queen’s Blade.  She stands here battle ready with one of  the best paint jobs I’ve seen as of yet.  The gradations really add a nice touch and the intense expression really lets you know that she is not taking any crap.  This Figure is available for pre-order and will release in November for about $72
